Refrigeration controls are the controllers, sensors, valves and control panels that keep the temperature in cold rooms, control compressors and defrosting, and raise alarms when something fails. ColdBack designs and installs control panels, Carel controllers and protection devices, and logs temperatures for HACCP records. We work in Warsaw and Masovia, on new and upgraded refrigeration systems.

We work in Warsaw and Masovia, from our base in Majdan near Warsaw. For larger sites, such as large-format stores, we also work in other parts of Poland.

24/7 on-call service
Night, weekend and public holiday on-call service is available to companies with a service contract, and in Warsaw also a guaranteed response within 4 hours. Without a contract we take calls Mon-Fri 8:00-18:00.

What does a refrigeration controller do?
A controller keeps the set temperature in the cold room by switching the condensing unit or a valve on and off. It controls evaporator defrosting and fans, and triggers an alarm if the temperature is exceeded or a fault occurs. Newer controllers also log temperatures for your records.
Does the temperature in a cold room have to be recorded?
A HACCP plan requires temperature monitoring at critical control points, and sanitary inspections (Sanepid) check the records. Automatic temperature logging is the simplest way to have continuous data without manual entries.
Why does the condensing unit keep switching on and off?
A common cause is incorrect controller settings, a faulty temperature sensor or a faulty pressure switch. Such short cycling wears out the compressor and wastes power. We check the controls together with the condensing unit, because the symptom can be the same while the cause is different.
Can you replace just the controls without replacing the system?
Yes. If the condensing units and evaporators work properly, a new control panel, controllers and sensors are often enough. This costs less than replacing the whole system and improves temperature stability.
Which controllers do you work with?
We most often install Carel controllers, and we also work with Danfoss and Castel controls on refrigeration systems. The choice depends on the size of the system and what is already on site.
Do you offer remote temperature monitoring?
Yes, for refrigeration systems installed by ColdBack: temperature viewing on your phone and fault notifications. For clients with a service contract, we also support the monitoring they already have.
