Made-to-measure cold rooms: design, installation and service
A cold room is an insulated room built from PIR sandwich panels with a condensing unit that keeps a constant temperature, usually from +2 to +8 °C. ColdBack designs and builds made-to-measure cold rooms, with doors and controls, in Warsaw and across Masovia (Mazowieckie Province). Installing a cold room of up to about 30 m³ takes 1 to 3 days on site. Afterwards we provide service and F-gas leak checks.

Made-to-measure PIR panel cold rooms
Cold rooms from +2 to +8 °C and low-temperature rooms from -2 to +2 °C, free-standing or inside an existing room. We match the panel thickness to the temperature.
Condensing unit selection and installation
We calculate capacity from a heat load calculation: volume, goods, door openings and ambient temperature. No oversizing and no running at the limit.
Cold room doors and curtains
Hinged or sliding doors, and PVC strip curtains that reduce cold losses when doors are opened often.
Controls and temperature logging
Carel controllers, high temperature alarms and temperature logging for HACCP records.
Insulating existing rooms
Converting a room in a building into a cold room: PIR panel insulation, doors, condensing unit and controls.
Service and F-gas leak checks
Leak checks with an entry in the CRO, and a service contract with 24/7 on-call service and a response time of up to 4 hours in Warsaw.

We build PIR panel cold rooms across Masovia (Mazowieckie Province), from our base in Majdan near Warsaw. We supply and install condensing units and refrigeration systems for existing cold rooms throughout Poland.

24/7 on-call service
Night, weekend and public holiday on-call service is available to companies with a service contract, and in Warsaw also a guaranteed response within 4 hours. Without a contract we take calls Mon-Fri 8:00-18:00.

How long does it take to build a cold room?
Installing a typical PIR panel cold room of up to about 30 m³ takes 1 to 3 days on site. Before that we order the panels and condensing unit, which usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. In the high season, from May to the end of September, the lead time from order can extend to as much as 2 months, so it is worth ordering your cold room in advance.
How much does a cold room cost?
The price depends on the dimensions, temperature, panel thickness, door type and condensing unit capacity, and on whether the room is free-standing or built inside an existing room. That is why we price every cold room individually. Send us the dimensions, the type of goods and the temperature, and we will prepare a quote within 48 hours.
How do you size the condensing unit for a cold room?
We calculate capacity from a heat load calculation: heat passing through the walls, ceiling and floor, heat from incoming goods, air let in when the door opens, and lighting and fans. We add a safety margin to the result and select a condensing unit from the standard range. The same floor area in an uninsulated room needs much more capacity than a PIR panel cold room.
Can you build a cold room inside an existing room?
Yes. We insulate the room in the building with PIR panels and install cold room doors, a condensing unit and controls. Without insulation, a cold room inside masonry walls loses a lot of energy, so we always recommend insulating the walls, the ceiling and, where needed, the floor.
Where do you build cold rooms?
We build PIR panel cold rooms across Masovia (Mazowieckie Province), including Warsaw, Otwock, Piaseczno, Pruszków, Marki and Mińsk Mazowiecki. We supply and install a condensing unit on its own, or a refrigeration system for an existing cold room, throughout Poland.
What documents will I receive after installation?
A commissioning report with the pressure test, equipment documentation and registration of the system in the CRO (Polish Central Register of Operators), which we carry out after every installation. The company holds an F-gas certificate for businesses.
